I recall many years ago sitting in the freezing cold of a Western New York Winter watching my beloved (at the time) Buffalo Bills. It was the third quarter and they were ahead on the scoreboard so an unusual thing occurred, the notorious "no huddle offense" of the the early 1990's Bills had stopped and they gathered around Jim Kelly and discussed the play they were about to run. I sat in the nosebleed section of Rich Stadium and was upset because they took so much time drawing up a plan in a game that they were winning.
I wonder how many football fans would pay top dollar to sit around and watch their favorite team run out onto the field just to gather in a huddle. How many of us would stand by and pay money if that team NEVER ran a play? Yet this is what many of our churches do today. We gather on Sundays and we huddle together and then at the benediction of the service we walk or drive back to our homes, we go to work, we go to school, shopping, etc and we NEVER run a play.
MIA was started when I first started Salt-N-Light (SNL) to ensure that we never miss a chance to "run a play". Since Starting Hope House, we have made a decision to be very intentional about our MIA's.
In December of 2020 Hope House partnered with the Zach and Julie Ertz Foundation to distribute more than 1000 jackets, socks and food to families as well as the homeless living in Kensington.

On March 27 Hope House was able to partner with Hands In Service (HIS) a charitable donation clearing house that supports various ministries throughout the world. Hope House was able to help sort, test, and package various goods going to Ukraine and Nepal in an effort support Covid and natural disaster relief efforts in both countries.

Moving forward we have a few exciting service projects, if you or anyone else is interested in joining our next MIA please contact me directly through our contact page.
