Mike and Jessie have recently launched a new ministry called Hope House in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. They are excited to share a variety programs and ministries. Here are just a few:
Speaking & Education
Mike, who has earned his Masters in Divinity, delivers sermons at various churches throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Mike also teaches collegiate level courses on Inner City Missions and often will speak and provide educational information to other churches, non-profits or corporations. Mike brings an engaging, fun, comfortable style of presentation to his audience, sharing his experiences and insights. Along with formal speaking engagements Mike is also available to speak with athletes as he has been involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Hockey for several years.
Counseling and Addiction Support
Many people in our community struggle with significant addictions. Kensington, is often considered the opiate capital of America. We try to help people recover from the effects of addiction. We partner with recovery ministries near our church. We hold a recovery focused Bible study and provide the facilities for multiple AA and NA groups. Our recovery ministry meets at "The Miracle House" which was once used for drug use and prostitution. Now God has transformed it into a place where people find freedom from addiction through Jesus Christ.
Community Outreach
As we follow Jesus we understand that He was sent by God the Father to walk, live and minister intentionally to a specific group of people. We believe that we are called to follow His example and walk, live and minister intentionally to the Kensington Section of Philadelphia. We do this through various outreach events including something as simple as offering cookies and Hot Cocoa on a cold winter day.
Women's Ministry
Jess leads the women's ministry which comes along women of all ages and helps their walk with Christ. In addition to bible studies, Jess also runs a clothing drive called "Swap Your Swag" in addition to other programs.
Salt n' Light (Young Adults)
Salt'N Light (SNL) is a weekly gathering of young adults to enjoy fellowship and community with one another. A typical night can include fun games and challenges as well as Bible study and discussion. SNL also has many activities throughout the year such as hiking trips and MIAs (Mission In Action, service projects).
Teen Ministry
We believe that Christ has a special plan for each of us, and we strive to provide a safe place where they can "hang out", support one another and learn about their personal relationship with God.

Mike and Jess have embraced the teens in Kensington and see them not as the church leaders of tomorrow, but as leaders of today. We encourage our teens to grow as leaders by volunteering for our Family Night, Kids Club, Children's Church and VBS Ministries along with other service projects.
